Letter from the Editor: The Capital News Mission
The Capital News seeks to consistently tell untold positive stories about African-Americans in Washington, DC; to provide information that impacts our readers on a daily basis; and to remind our readers to “Take Care of Each Other.”
“Take Care of Each Other” is a seemingly simple phrase but is nevertheless sincere. We write this phrase in the hopes that it will deeply resonate with each of you. When we hear this expression we are reminded to check on our neighbors; we are prompted to call our grandmothers; and we are urged to prioritize family dinners. Here at The Capital News, we realize that community work shows up in our everyday actions. It reveals itself in how we spend our most valuable resource-time. Time is one of the only resources we cannot replenish and don’t know how much we have. For those who read our paper, we want you to know that we do not take your time lightly. We take care of our readers by letting your voices be heard and ensuring that you find out what is happening in your community.
Cheers
